Task:
Design a working Aquarium light that can be easily manufactured
A good light is crucial in maintaining plant growth as well as keeping your fish happy and healthy.
This Light gives the tank a more open look allowing more natural light in and easier maintenance and feeding.
Meet Ridley
The Betta Fish
Ridley is a male Galaxy Koi Betta. He's the reason for this project's existence and why creating a working design was so important.

The Problem:
The aquarium came stock with 2 black lids. These lids worked fine when using all the stock components that came with the tank. Problems arise when you try using a new (better) filter. The right lid cant sit flat and must be set on top of the filter.
Another issue is the lids take away from the look of the tank. They block out natural light during the day and make feeding and maintenance more tedious.

The idea started with a small group of sketches as well as marking down key dimensions of the aquarium that will need to be used when modeling it later.

With a good idea of the form and size Fusion 360 models were started. The mount was designed, in this instance, specifically for the tank shown but easily can be modified to fit different style tanks.
The hole at the bottom can be used to route wires if needed.

The section for the light was shelled and clips were added to attach the LED strip. Another tab was added to manage the wires.

The final design was printed using an Artillery Genius Pro. Some supports had to be added and removed for the clips that attach the LED strip. Once those are removed the LED strip can be attached and the whole fixture is ready to go. With the fidelity of the printer little to no sanding was needed.
